Medicine Hat drivers will soon be facing a major construction project on the Maple avenue bridge. City officials say that work will begin next Tuesday. The bridge is scheduled to have the asphalt surface replaced with a more durable product and they city will also be undertaking other repairs on the structure. The project will see bridge traffic reduced to one lane in both directions. Work is also being scheduled at the same time for the Maple avenue and 1st Street intersection as well as the Altawana and Parkview Drive intersection. Officials are advising motorists to use other routes if possible. The Construction project is scheduled to last until November.
