MVA injures 6, closes Trans Canada Highway

The TransCanada Highway westbound near Dunmore was closed for several hours last night after a head on collision. RCMP, Fire and EMS were called to the scene around 7pm. Mounties say a car driving the wrong way on the two lane collided with an SUV at the west end of Dunmore. All 4 occupants of the SUV, including a 7 day old baby, were taken to hospital for treatment. The Driver of and the passenger of the car were also taken to hospital. Two of the six injured were taken to Calgary with serious but non life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision.  The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the driver of the car.
